To That Special Woman In My Life
You have become me and I have become you. We are inseparable. We have spent 42 years of our lives together. None of the experiences of my life can be comprehended by anyone but the woman who lived through them with me. Those years have gone, but the aroma lingers in my mind.
With every event of everyday these 42 years of our lives have become more intertwined: blending into this incredible affection I bear for you. Is it any wonder that I can read your face like a book. The slightest narrowing of your eyes speaks volumes about the thoughts that are running through your mind. I love you, J.P. I love the girl who pushed me to achieve the goal of being an ordained servant of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I love the girl who took on the responsibility of being both mother and father to our four children for four years so that I could fufill my dreams of being a pastor. I love the girl who never complained about that cramped and hot, attic apartment with four children and the junky furniture and no vacation and no car and sometimes no money to buy the necessities of life. Today we do not have much in this world's goods, but we are rich in the things of God.
You have been with me all through these years. You have loved me, encouraged me and supported me in all I do; and the place you have given me in your life and our home is beyond what I deserve. So, why do I do what I do each day? It's because I have you to take the journey with me, Babe. The joy of the future will be in experiencing, as we have in the past, our love together as we journey on, hand in hand, with the God we love. A young Miss Joyce Teekasingh, who gave me everything she had, including her heart. Thank you, God, for giving her to me to love and to cherish until death do us part.
